SUCCESS IN LIFE HAS NOTHING TO DO WITH WHAT YOU GAIN IN LIFE OR ACCOMPLISH FOR YOURSELF. IT’S WHAT YOU DO FOR OTHERS.
- DANNY THOMAS

What type of person becomes a volunteer tutor?

Many different types! If you have always wanted to help someone learn new skills, this may be your outlet. If you have a sense of humour and like people, if you are comfortable with reading and writing in English, and if you have patience you could be a tutor.

How much time will I need to volunteer?

As much as you can offer! We ask that tutors volunteer their time on a regular basis, i.e. one day every week, two half days every week, etc. so that the client maintains consistency. You may wish to tutor only one student, which could be 2 hours a week, or more if you have the time. It really is up to you and what you want to offer.

How do you train me?

All new tutors receive training at the school locations.

Please note that we require all volunteers, tutors, staff and board members to fill in an application, and submit a police record check for our files.
